Changes Coming to Disney Halloween
Jun 1st, 2010 by Jeff Westover
Disney is announcing changes to its Halloween entertainment lineup this year. Mickey’s Halloween Party (also known through the years as Mickey’s Trick or Treat Party and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party) will be moved to Disneyland Park from its more-recent home at Disney’s California Adventure.
The special event is a hard ticket event – meaning that to enjoy Disneyland’s Halloween party, you’ll have to buy a ticket separate from general admission (guests who buy only the event ticket will be admitted at 6pm; guests who purchase both a general admission ticket and special event ticket for the same day can begin the fun at 3pm).
As part of the move, new changes will be in store for Disneyland. The park will close early on Tuesdays and Fridays in October to accommodate Mickey’s Halloween Party, during which guests will be able to visit numerous trick-or-treat locations throughout the park, participate in a Disney costume parade, and gain access to limited-edition souvenirs and exclusive food items created for the event.
In addition, most Disneyland Park attractions will also be open for operation during the party; this list includes the Halloween overlays of Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy and Haunted Mansion Holiday. As part of the event, Mickey’s Halloween Party will also include exclusive access to Halloween Screams, the Disney Villains-themed fireworks show that debuted to immense popularity last year.
Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy and Haunted Mansion Holiday will be available to general admittance guests during regular park hours. Halloween Screams has not been confirmed for the general public on nights when the Halloween party is not being held, but the Orange County Register is reporting that the show will not be made available. Calls for confirmation to Disney were not immediately returned. While Halloween Screams will be exclusive to guests on the night of the party, it is unclear from Disney whether it will be offered on non-party nights.
Tickets for Mickey’s Halloween Party go on sale June 4th for annual passholders, July 15th for everyone else. Tickets may be purchased from Disneyland’s official website.
